Hello Son
Well, I’ve been apart from you and your mother for two days now and I can’t say that I like it. I’ve been lucky enough to Skype with your mom and she’s held you up for me to inspect. You’re getting bigger everyday it seems and when I get back I may not recognize you at all! I hope that’s not the case, but in all reality you probably will not recognize me. Being...

Dax, I'm So Glad You're Here.
Dax, it’s been so nice to finally meet you.
First though, to all the single parents, spouses of deployed military members, grandparent-caregivers, you people are amazing. Simply amazing. The past few days have been nuts, and I couldn’t imagine not having Katharine to help me even as a fit, educated, relatively young man. I could not imagine having to navigate parenthood on my own....

Question
Would anyone out there consider two middle names for their child? We’ve decided on a name for the little bro that’s due next week, Dax Allan. However, I’ve been thinking that maybe we should throw in another middle name, Neville. So the name would be Dax Allan Neville G____. This is why I think this would be awesome.
1. Neville Longbottom is a badass.
2. The little guys...

Dax,
I was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base on September 11, 2001. The attack was shocking, confusing, terrifying, and motivating all at the same time. I saw the buildings burning, and I wanted to run into them and carry out as many people as I could, but I couldn’t. I was too far away. The time after the attack was so confusing because I was so angry, and so powerless against an attack...

Hello Little One!
Today we got to see you at our second ultrasound this month. At your last appointment with the midwife you had a wonky heartbeat so we had to schedule this second ultrasound to check the development of your heart. Fortunately, everything seems to have settled down and your heart was not irregular at all. The doctor said that you looked great! Your mother and I are so glad that everything is okay...

Hello! You In There?
Your mother and I went to the midwife center and talked about you coming. We had lots of questions and then we got to listen to your heartbeat. How exciting! It’s good to know and hear that you’re in there. Soon, you’ll be able to hear us and everything. It’s really exciting for your mother and me. We are getting you excellent medical care.
We told our family about you and...

Scott Raab: Do you always cut your burgers in half?
Louis CK: Yeah.
SR: Slop factor?
LCK: A little bit. I always tell my kids to cut a sandwich in half right when you get it, and the first thought you should have is somebody else. You only ever need half a burger.
SR: That’s really…
Always share.
Great-Grandparents!
Hello baby. Yesterday your mother and I drove to Talladega, Al and met with some of your great-aunts and great-uncles. Most importantly, we met with your great-grandparents. Barbara and John Ferguson. John Ferguson or “papa” asked about you. He still doesn’t know about you in particular, but it was really nice that he was talking about you already. He’s really very nice and...
